Georgia Musicians
The State of Georgia has a rich history of music. Contributions from many cultures, races, and time periods have come together to create a rich tradition of music.
There are five modules in this study. As you move through the modules, there is information to read, music to listen to, and videos to watch. At the end of each module, there is an assignment to complete.

Georgia's First Settlement was what is known today as Savannah, Georgia. Watch this video to learn more about the leader: James Oglethorpe and the original colonists of Georgia.

The colonists brought music from their home country when they immigrated into the United States. They brought folk music as well as traditional folk instruments from their home country. As the country expanded, music from countries of origin were played by many.
